Our sister company, Cranes101, offers courses, live and online, for your safety certification and crane operator licensing needs. Visit the Cranes101 page to see the current course listings and calendar.

Our Team of Industrial Safety Professionals
Jennifer is an experienced and certified construction safety professional that has worked in the industry for nearly twenty years. She apprenticed under her father, Jay Sturm, a well-known safety expert and one the industry’s most knowledgeable and trusted experts. Today, she employs a dedicated staff, performs training and inspections internationally, and has branded her business to be recognized by industry leaders. She is proud that most of the customers that started with her back in the early 2000’s are still using her company today.
Alex brings an extensive background of hydraulic and heavy equipment mechanics to the team. His experience began with building trucks and heavy equipment over ten years ago, and has evolved into operating a multitude of industrial and construction equipment, including personnel lifts, overheads, and all mobile cranes. He is also a NCCER certified examiner and crane operator.
Before joining CATS, Angela managed the entire coordination of Cranes101, and was immersed in the culture of crane operators' requirements and the demand for safe and proper operations and documentation. Her experience has given her a meticulous eye for detail, which is helpful when working with legal documents such as annual inspection reports.
Jay, now serving as technical advisor to CATS, is an active member of the ASME crane code writing committee, as well as an ANSI Z133 committee member. In addition, he consults as an expert witness regarding crane accidents. His vast industry knowledge and commitment to the safety standards are built into everything the Cranes companies do.
Maria has been with CATS from Day 1 and has dedicated the past 20 years to the growth and support of the company. She has worn many hats in the business, starting with customer service and scheduling inspections to managing the HR department and coordinating in-house safety training and procedures. Maria brought her experience as a successful business owner along to create a solid foundation for CATS from the beginning.
